Marine Parts Advisor and Stores Controller Vacancy

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Marine Parts Advisor and Stores Controller to join our team. This role involves assisting customers in selecting and ordering parts for their outboard engines, managing stock levels and replenish as required. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organisational skills, along with a passion for the marine industry.

Full training will be provided, though prior experience in stores and a keen interest in the marine sector will be advantageous.

Location: South Walsham, United Kingdom

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: DOE

Days: Monday – Friday

Hours: 8.30am – 5.00pm


Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management: Maintain an organised inventory of marine parts, ensuring stock levels are monitored, replenished, and that an accurate goods-in procedure is completed.

Customer Assistance: Help customers identify and order the correct parts for their outboard engines using parts books and other resources.

Order Processing: Prepare accurate delivery notes and invoices for parts orders. Processing payments.

Online Sales Management: Organise the online parts sales process, including updating listings, preparing orders for dispatch and coordinating delivery options.

Customer Communication: Provide excellent customer service both in-person and over the phone, assisting with any queries related to parts and orders.

Collaboration: Work closely with the workshop departments to ensure that the required parts are available for scheduled jobs.

Technical Support: Offer advice on parts compatibility and installation where necessary, assisting customers with technical inquiries.


Experience and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a parts advisory or similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A genuine interest in the marine industry and a willingness to learn about various outboard engine components.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally via phone and face-to-face.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage stock levels accurately.

Additional Requirements:

  • Due to the location of the role, candidates will need their own transport.
  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred).
  • Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
